Jan Huyghe wrote a standard reference (192 pages) about shrimp fishing on the coast. The book contains 700 facts about shrimp fishing on horseback.

It includes a list of 300 horseback fishers and the names of all of the girls who have been given the title of Mieke Garnaal. It contains endless interesting facts that span five centuries of horseback fishing and covers all of the major and minor events from 1393 to 2021.

The book has more than a hundred illustrations which bring the stories to life. Each fact in the time line refers back to sources in the bibliography.
